About the Project.
The village of Kampong Kdei has 800 inhabitants but has no library. I come from this village, and neither I nor my siblings finished high school. I’d like to create a welcoming, safe space to encourage young people to continue their education in this community.
Why Eat at The Christa?
Eating at The Christa directly supports and benefits the youth of Kampong Kdei Village. Every time our wonderful guests enjoy a meal with us, 20% of the bill goes to fund our library project and subsequently provide opportunities for the next generation.
Progress
Work has already begun on the main building. A separate building will hold restrooms. There will also be a small shop selling baguettes and drinks to encourage the local people to visit; this will help make the project self-sufficient. Looking into the future, creating a small fish farm on the property will provide additional income to further sustain the project; there will also be an area dedicated to growing fruits and vegetables.

Making a Difference
Your contribution, no matter how large or how small, will make a big difference in the lives of the families in Kampong Kdei, which is about 60 km from Siem Reap. Feel free to ask any questions about the project, or get involved with it yourself. This is a labor of love, and any help is welcomed! In the meantime, The Christa Restaurant & Bar will be proudly donating 20% of your bill toward the building of this much-needed library.
