The Christa Restaurant & Bar.

Our story & how with the help of our guests, we’re building a library for the young people of Kampong Kdei village.

The Christa Restaurant is owned by Mr Rak from the village of Kampong Kdei, located 60km from Siem Reap city.

Neither Rak or his siblings finished high school. Having left school at such a young age meant Rak worked his way up from low paid menial jobs to eventually realize his dream of owning a restaurant and begin to create a safe and inspiring youth community space in his home village, with a library as its focal point.

The Soriya (sunshine) Library in Rak’s home village is a labour of love fuelled by a motivation to provide a brighter future, place to read and study for the young people of Kampong Kdei. 20% of each bill at The Christa Restaurant & Bar goes towards funding this dream.

Since its opening back in 2016, The Christa restaurant, located in the heart of Siem Reap, has become known for its authentic Cambodian cuisine and western favourites, its friendly welcoming service and unique ambience, with an array of dining areas over three floors.

Mr Rak and the whole Christa team invite you to dine with them and be part of this journey.
